2018 Jr. Firefighter program

This recent summer of 2018 the Petrolia & North Enniskillen Fire Department conducted their 2018 Jr. Firefighter Program. It ran from July 16th-July 19th. This program is a great opportunity to learn about the fire service. It charged a $20.00 fee to keep the amazing program going. 

It ran from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. each day and is geared for students in Grades 7 and 8. Applicants have the opportunity to get hands-on practice and learn about the following components of fire safety and firefighter operations: 

  • Auto Extrication
  • Home Fire Safety
  • Basic First Aid
  • Firefighter Fundamentals 
  • Fire Extinguisher Training

And much more. 

This program takes place at the Petrolia and North Enniskillen Fire Department, located at 370 Centre St, in Petrolia. All personal protective equipment such as coveralls, helmets, & gloves will be provided. Applicants are required to wear closed-toe footwear and bring their own lunch. Applicants will be given a Jr. Firefighter T-shirt to wear for the duration of the program. 

At the end of the program on July 19th, parents and guardians were encouraged to attend from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. to celebrate their child’s achievements and enjoy a pizza lunch.

Sixteen (16) applicants will be accepted.
